This bridge is a stone and brick arch that was built in 1900 and in 1925 was widened by the addition of a concrete arch portion. After 1985, concrete adjacent box beams were added to the outside of the north side of the bridge to create a sidewalk. Overall the bridge, with its 1925 concrete railing and arch exterior, the bridge looks like a concrete arch bridge. However by walking under the bridge, the brick underside of the original arch is clearly visible. Brick arch bridges are less common than stone arch bridges, making this bridge significant. The 1925 concrete arch addition is old enough such that it is also a historic part of the bridge.
