This bridge is unusual because of its variety of spans. The three northernmost spans are riveted Warren deck truss spans. However, immediately south of these there is a pin-connected Pratt deck truss span. It is not known if this span is different because it is older (reused from a previous bridge here or moved here from another location) or because it may have a slightly longer span length for which building a pin-connected truss bridge made more sense. Finally, there is a deck plate girder span crossing Caldwell Road. This span bears a 1904 American Bridge Company plaque. The bridge sits on stone piers that have concrete on top. The stone could potentially be from a previous bridge at this location. To add to the bridge's varied history, the south abutment has concrete with a 1936 date on it suggesting a reconstruction of the abutment at that time.
