This is a representative example of a steel stringer overpass over US-131, which used R4 railing for its overpasses.
In 2025 this bridge was repaired after it had been severely damaged by an overheight truck hitting it. Several stringers were removed and replaced, and as part of this the deck and railing in that area had to be removed. However, somewhat amazingly, the historical R4 railings were not replaced with ugly concrete, instead the panels were placed back on the bridge, attached to replicated concrete posts. It was nice to see this done, attention being given to maintain the attractive appearance and historic integrity of this bridge, rather than just doing a "bandage repair" where it sticks out like a sore thumb.
