This bridge is one of a number of interesting old bridges located along the various parkways that surround the three branches of River Rouge. Like most of the bridges of note in the parkways, this bridge has lost its original railings. The bridge does retain its original plaque however it was mounted on the outside of the bridge when the railings were replaced. While this is odd, it does ensure that the plaque is not covered up by Armco approach guardrail, and during a winter visit to the bridge the snowplows will not have covered the plaque with ice and snow, which is good because this bridge is absolutely buried in trees and shrubs and really can only be seen and enjoyed in the winter when the leaves are gone. The plaque for this bridge is a standard Michigan State Highway Department style plaque that was used in the 1920s. The bridge, presumably designed by the Michigan State Highway Department, is traditionally composed and relatively unadorned, especially compared to some of the Wayne County Road Commission designed arch bridges which remain in the county.
