The Carmody Road Bridge is a significant structure because of its heavy skew. Modern Armco guardrails have been bolted onto the original railings, but because of its rare, heavy skew, this bridge is still in a minority group and therefore merits some attention. The bridge is also a significant structure in the context of the bridges surrounding it. There are several additional curved t-beams near this bridge, and although all have had those modern guardrails bolted on, they still retain enough of their general original appearance that one might feel they have traveled back into the 1950s/60s.
