Flint became infamous for its lead-contaminated water in 2016, and many television news reports showed footage of the Flint Water Plant where the water problem originated. Some of the footage used revealed a historic metal truss bridge that spans between two parts of a large brick building. There are actually two plants at this location, one being the newer facility which was in use when the crisis began and remains in use today. The other building, where this historic bridge is located, stands abandoned and collapsing nearby. As such, while this building may be from the same era that saw lead pipes installed in the city, it was not the plant in use when the crisis happened. The bridge that is a part of this building spans between a brick tower and another portion of the building. The exact purpose of the bridge is not known, whether it was used as a walkway and/or if it carried pipes. Span length given is a rough estimate.
