This bridge is a concrete arch bridge that had pre-stressed concrete adjacent box beams added to each side to widen the bridge. The National Bridge Inventory gives a 1959 rehabilitation date for this bridge. If that date refers to the box beams, the box beams would be fairly early examples of this technology, however it is not certain that date does in fact refer to the box beam additions. The bridge has limited historic significance because it is so severely altered by the addition of the box beams. The box beams nearly completely hide the arch and have resulted in the loss of the original arch railings. The bridge is today only of interest for the story it tells about this crossing.
