This bridge appears similar in appearance and design to the Fruitport Road Bridge. At first glance, this bridge appears to be a standard 1950s stringer bridge. However, it actually features some small details that deviate from what most 1950s stringers in Michigan look like. In particular, the standard steel ornamental railings use a plain, square-shaped tube for the top and bottom horizontal section of the guardrail, as opposed to the more complex shape usually employed. In addition, the concrete posts between railing panels feature a different design than the usual keyhole shape or the tall and inset rectangle designs found on most of these bridges. These posts instead feature an raised texture of a trapezoid-like shape. Elsewhere on the bridge, the piers feature an uncommon design as well. This, coupled with the decent bridge length make this stand out among Michigan's remaining steel stringer bridges.
