The bridge also has type R4 railings except that the concrete posts have an architectural detailing that is unlike other bridges with R4 railings. This bridge is further noted for its lack of alteration aside from the addition of modern guardrails in front of the originals. The bridge is also a relatively long example of this bridge type in Michigan.
