This bridge crosses the same unusual river layout as the more famous Siphon Bridge. Like the Siphon Bridge, this crossing may have once also functioned as a siphon. Indeed, this bridge appears very similar in design to the Siphon Bridge, with t-beam spans over the river and slab spans over the flume. However, this bridge is more narrow, and there is no aesthetic detailing on the railings, and the original railings on the portion over the river no not appear to remain, with lightweight wooden railings present instead. However, the superstructure of these river spans appears to retain excellent historic integrity, something that may not be true for the Siphon Bridge.
