If this bridge's construction date (making it an early surviving example of its type) and length as given by the National Bridge Inventory is correct (something that isn't always the case) than this calls into question the claims of period postcards that the other concrete arch bridge in Mt. Pleasant on Lincoln Street was the longest ever built. Perhaps this Broadway Street Bridge was built shortly after the Lincoln Street Bridge in the same year. Accuracy of dates and measurements aside, this arch bridge on Broadway Street looks shorter, but this may be an illusion because it is not as tall as the Lincoln Street Bridge. The Broadway Street Bridge has had its railings replaced, but otherwise retains its original design and materials. An undated historical photo showing the "New Broadway Bridge" appears to show pole railings on the bridge resting on short concrete parapets.
