This bridge appears to be the only bridge with any noteworthy heritage value whatsoever in the entire county. Moreover, the bridge is located in an entire region that has very few historic bridges. Thus, even a bridge like this one with a modest level of historic significance is locally noteworthy as something worth preserving. Also, the bridge is actually not in very bad condition and is located on a dirt road. The bridge should be rehabilitated, not demolished and replaced as the county road commission is seeking funding for. Providing money for costly demolition and replacement seem a poor use of taxpayer dollars on the part of MDOT who has the job of dealing out the Local Bridge Program money that Osceola County is requesting.
