This bridge is a structure type was never common to begin with but is rapidly becoming extremely rare on Michigan's roadways today, Michigan's unique curved chord through girder bridges commonly called concrete camelback bridges. This example is a 50 foot plan, and it features the typical design for this size. This bridge has some damage at the ends of the girders, but overall is in decent condition. It does not appear to have deteriorated beyond the point of feasible rehabilitation that would cost less than replacing the bridge. This bridge should be rehabilitated now, while it remains feasible to do so. Each surviving example of a concrete camelback bridge in Michigan is a rare, historic, and beautiful example of the creativity exhibited by early Michigan State Highway Department engineers.
