This is a pair of railroad overpasses, one being older than the other, since the second bridge was built in 1961 to accommodate the road's conversion into a divided highway. The newer northbound bridge is single span while the older southbound bridge is three spans. Both have R4 railing. With one bridge dating to 1936 and the other dating to 1961, these two bridges are a unique illustration of almost the entire period of usage of the type R4 railing (roughly 1932-1963).
The information shown on this page above refers to the older, southbound span. L. A. Davidson of Saginaw, Michigan was the contractor for the 1961 bridge. The 1961 bridge also had a plaque that was stolen since the bridge was last painted. The shape left behind suggests the girders for the 1961 bridge were fabricated by the Bethlehem Steel Company of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
