This plate girder overpass presents an interesting contrast to the truss bridge it sits next to. Presumably, a truss was not needed here because of the narrower deck, as this bridge is only single track compared to the truss which is wide enough for four sets of tracks. This plate girder bridge has been abandoned for a long time. Ken Borg reports that (no surprise here) the National Bridge Inventory's association with Grand Trunk Western (today just referenced by the company as Canadian National) was in fact built by the Ford Motor Company to connect to the Detroit Terminal Railroad.
