This bridge is an unusual design in that it displays a Camelback truss design in a pony truss format, and using only lightweight paired angles to compose chords and members. The design can be found in a small number of bridges in both the states of Kansas and Missouri. The cross-border appearance of this design in two neighboring states, plus the fact that it hasn't been seen in other parts of the country, suggests its design is the work of a bridge company rather than a state-standard bridge plan. If the 1925 construction date is accurate, a bridge company designed bridge would have been less common in the era of state-focused bridge design.
This bridge has a number of welded plates added, making this one of the more altered examples of this unusual truss form in Missouri and Kansas.
