This is riveted steel deck arch bridge with ornamental railings has a jack-arch deck and the arch has been strengthened with additional steel. The railings on the bridge are not original, although they may simulate the original railing. The attractive ornamental railings seen today were placed in a 2012 rehabilitation and replaced some ugly railings that were not original to the bridge. The bridge was built ca. 1896-1897, as a Fiscal Year 1896-97 report from the city bridge engineer reported that the bridge was completed during that time. The bridge was built after a tornado in 1896 destroyed the previous bridge.
