This bridge was built in 1893, and with its a-frame portal bracing is an example of the final standard design used by the Wrought Iron Bridge Company. This design was used up until the bridge company became part of the American Bridge Company in 1900.
The original hip vertical has been replaced, and the clevis used at the lower chord connection is totally unrepresentative of the original design, which was either a single or double pronged eyebar.
