This bridge overall is traditionally composed, however some of the rivets do not have the round heads almost always found on bridges. Instead, some of the rivets are cone heads, and some are steeple heads. In particular, the top chord and end post beams display these. A number of other truss bridges in western New Jersey display these rivet head variations, and it may indicate a common bridge builder.
Information and Findings From New Jersey's Historic Bridge InventoryDiscussion of Bridge The 3-panel Pratt pin-connected half-hip pony truss bridge is supported on random ashlar abutments with wing walls. The abutments have been reinforced with concrete toe walls. Washers separate the eye bars in the lower pin connections. Alterations include welded plates at the panel points, additional diagonals, and outriggers. The original design has been compromised and render the bridge a technologically undistinguished example of a well-represented bridge type in the county.
