This is an impressive bridge with some unusual details. Firstly, it is a very wide bridge for its age, and typical of wide through truss bridges from this period the overhead bracing system includes a longitudinal bracing line running through the middle of the overhead bracing system. The bridge has a very heavy skew of 45 degrees and some of the floorbeams actually rest on the abutments as a result. The bridge's truss configuration is an unusual variation of the Warren truss configuration, where the traditional repeating "V" pattern is interrupted in the center panel of the truss where instead an "X" pattern of diagonals is found. Finally, the bridge trusses are not trapezoidal in shape. Look closely and you will see this bridge is barely a Polygonal Warren truss, with the top chord having two very shallow slopes.
