Located in a scenic beach setting, this old riveted pedestrian footbridge has partially collapsed due to deteriorating substructure. The pier at one end has been rotating and finally broke, but the broken part did not fall off and the bridge simply dropped a bit. This took place sometime between 2010 and 2019. The bridge is a through truss but has outriggers, an uncommon combination. Even more unusual, the bridge has secondary diagonal members, composed of lightweight rods. These rods start at the top chord connections, and end at the bottom chord, mid-way through the panel, where secondary floorbeams are present. The floorbeams are tiny, composed of single angles.
