This bridge is simple and utilitarian in appearance, however it is unusual in New York State since it is a concrete through girder bridge, a structure type that was not normally built in New York State and is very rare in the state today. Concrete girder bridges were built in some states and not in others. Sometimes a state had a state standard plan for the bridge type, and other times, one or two counties may have adopted the technology for their uses, while the state as a whole did not adopt the type. The latter appears to be the case in New York State, this bridge likely the product of local design efforts rather than a state standard plan. The bridge retains good historic integrity. It has articulated floor beams (rather than integral with the deck) and the date is cast into the girder.
