This bridge is noted for its very unusual design that illustrates that this is a very old metal truss bridge. It features a use of lightweight rolled members, and some unusual truss member layouts, such as a sub vertical member that runs from the center of the truss panel up to the top chord. Lightweight outrigger rods are present. This bridge is closed to traffic, and prior to closure had load-bearing girders added to the outside of the trusses to share the load of traffic. These girders did not diminish the historic integrity of the trusses themselves which retain good historic integrity. The builder of the bridge is unknown.
