This bridge in the middle of nowhere is an extremely rare example of a little-known in-state builder. The bridge has Jones and Laughlins steel brands. It was reportedly damaged in a flood. Per the SHPO's CRIS, the bridge recieved FEMA funding. FEMA is a nightmare for bridge preservation as it often can bypass or render useless Section 106, and it often can result in the demolition of bridges that could otherwise be preserved. This bridge is a good example as the 2022 dated photo in CRIS shows the bridge apparantly undamaged, yet it is described as a FEMA "Complete Loss (Removal/Replacement)" project. Assuming the provided photo is dated correctly this bridge was about as far from a complete loss as its possible to get. At the very minimum the truss should be relocated and preserved in a park or trail setting.
