This is a presentation of Squire Whipple's cast iron top chord used in his bowstring truss bridges, but is used on a Pratt truss here. The bridge has been placed on this private driveway. The trusses are highly altered and not load-bearing. The lower chord castings are missing and the lower chord rod was moved to the deck level to act like a railing. Despite alteration, the top chord and end posts retain the distinctive design of Squire Whipple, and this is one of only a couple known bridges using this cast iron design in a non-bowstring truss. This bridge likely dates to the 1860s.
This bridge is located on a private driveway but is visible from the nearby public road.
