The builder of this bridge, Good Roads Machinery Company, likely was named so to capitalize on the Good Roads movement and show that this was a company committed to that movement that included improving the quality of roads and also played a role in encouraging the development of standard bridge designs. The traditionally composed design of the Malloryville Road Bridge, which aside from the old-fashioned and fancy manner of the plaque being mounted on the top chord, is in line with this attitude of standardization.
