Designed by famous engineer Ralph Modjeski, this amazingly beautiful bridge is noted for its unique tower design and its location over the scenic Hudson River. In addition to this bridge's main spans, there are a number of approach spans. One, a riveted steel deck arch span over the railroad on the east approach, would be a noteworthy historic bridge all by itself. Daniel E. Moran is also listed as an engineer for the bridge, his contribution would have been to the substructure design, his area of expertise.
