This is an extremely rare example of a skewed Whipple truss bridge and it required some variation from the standard design details of the King Bridge Company. The overall design and layout of the built-up beams on the bridge is similar to those found on other Whipple truss bridges built by the King Bridge Company. However, likely due to the skew, the bridge has portal bracing and sway bracing that is heavier than the usual design. The bridge includes a cantilevered sidewalk which is original The floorbeams, which are also original, are built-up fishbelly floorbeams with the fishbelly shape extending out to the sidewalk edge. Thus, the floorbeams come to a sharper point on the sidewalk side. Also, the skew of the bridge resulted in the end floorbeams resting on the abutment at one end. This bridge was bypassed and abandoned in 1983.
