This unique bowstring bridge trusses were placed on a replacement bridge as decorations, but the trusses retain their extremely unusual details. The bridge may date to the 1870s and it may be the work of the Groton Bridge Company but this is speculation. The National Bridge Inventory shows an 1880 date (oddly for the pre-stressed concrete replacement bridge) but it is not known if this date is accurate. The bridge was replaced and turned to decorations in 1999. A plaque at the bridge credits Paul and Mary Lou Williams and family with saving the historic bridge on June 17, 2000.
Similar bridges are found at Rexford Falls (reportedly dated to 1877) and Jenne Lane.
