This bridge is an extremely rare example of a bedstead truss bridge in New York State. It also has an unusual and lightweight appearance. Its built-up vertical members are composed of back-to-back channels with v-lacing on each side, except for the central vertical member which is more lightweight and composed of angles with lattice. Having the central vertical member with a completely different design is very unusual. Finally, the bridge's end posts also have a somewhat lightweight appearance given their function and are composed of back-to-back channels with battens on each side. The use of battens on each side with no cover plate likely contributes the bridge's lightweight appearance. The bridge retains built-up fishbelly style floor beams.
