This truss features five panels. It has unusual bolts that act as connections for the end diagonals at the end post / top chord connection. These bolts were used by the Wrought Iron Bridge Company of Canton Ohio, thus the presence of these on this bridge associates this bridge with that company. Another element of the bridge that checks out in comparison to documented Wrought Iron Bridge Company pony truss bridges is the use of lattice on the vertical members.
This bridge was marketed for relocation and reuse prior to replacement, yet despite a trail nearby under development at the time, this bridge was not used for that trail, which is deeply disappointing and highlights the need for states to more aggressively make an effort to market historic truss bridges when they are up for replacement, as bridges like this make outstanding trail bridges and ultimately represent was is often the best preservation solution.
