The truss bridge that is on the same abandoned roadway was built in 1899. This may mean that this bridge was also built in 1899, but it could also have been built at a different time.
This is a one span stone arch bridge, and although the roadway is no longer in use, and this bridge is not maintained, the bridge appears to be in decent shape. Stone arch bridges have proven over the millennia to be a rather durable structure type. Its unfortunate that the stone arch bridges are not still built today in place of today's ugly pre-stressed concrete box beam bridges that will be junk 50 years from now.
