This small pony truss bridge has pinned connections except for the diagonal member connection to the end post, which is a threaded rod with nut and at this location a cast iron connection assembly is present. Because of these details, it is assumed that the Wrought Iron Bridge Company built the bridge. The use of rolled tees and lattice on the verticals further supports the builder assumption.
Usually when one finds a bridge on a golf course it is natural to assume it was relocated there from a highway to serve for the light traffic of a golf course. After all, placing a historic truss bridge on a golf course may cost less than a new bridge, and also enhances the beauty and attractions on the course. However, this bridge sits on what look like old stone abutments. It is not known what the history of the bridge is, if perhaps the nearby county road was once aligned where this bridge is. Either way, the bridge is a positive and unique asset for the Fostoria Country Club.
