Bridge Documentation

This tiny two-panel structure is one of the smallest truss bridges to be featured on this website. With only two panels, it has the least number of panels that a Pratt truss can have. Despite its small size, this is a complete, traditional truss bridge. It features a wooden deck. V-laced railings are present on the bridge. There is also v-lacing under the top chord and end posts. The verticals have lattice. A plaque is present on the bridge showing the builder and date. The connection at the top chord and hip vertical features the unusual threaded rod with nut connections that is a distinctive detail of the Wrought Iron Bridge Company and its pony trusses.

It is unclear whether this is the bridge's original location. As small as it is, the bridge seems too big for its abutments, overshooting them a bit in length.

After the first visit to the bridge, the bridge was repainted and re-decked as documented during a second visit to the bridge in 2011.
