This bridge is a very small pony truss with low trusses. It appears to be quite old, since despite being a small truss and thus with smaller beams, the floorbeams are built-up and not rolled. This suggests the bridge is an older truss bridge, perhaps dating to the late 1880s and early 1890s. The bridge is not listed on the National Bridge Inventory suggesting the bridge is privately owned. The water level below this bridge is at least sometimes, such as when these photos were taken, partially touching the water. In these photos the bottom flange of the floorbeams is just barely making contact with the water. If the levels were to rise any more, it would present a deterioration risk to the bridge.
This bridge is locally significant as the last known remaining pin-connected highway truss bridges. Lucas County has many more railroad truss bridges than highway truss bridges.
