Corrigan, McKinney and Company apparently built this bridge originally in 1913. In 1951, that company's successor, Republic Steel Corporation needed to strengthen the bridge to allow heavier cars on it. These alterations appear to have completely demolished the 1913 structure, since the heavy built-up members on the truss are a style that was not around in 1913. It is unclear if anything from the 1913 bridge remains. Regardless, the bridge is an interesting bridge, and even when considered a 1951 structure, is worthy of being considered historic.
