This was a rare surviving example of a unique bridge design that combined a lattice girder with a unique inverted Kingpost truss. See this page for more information on this unique bridge type built by the Canton Bridge Company.
This bridge has since been demolished and replaced with a culvert. Given that the fairgrounds relocated and preserved another historic bridge, it is shocking that they did not make an effort to preserve this bridge. While it had some significant deterioration, its small size would have made it relatively easy to restore, and it was a unique pair of high significance historic bridges for the county fairgrounds.
