Oklahoma is known for having some of the longest simple-span pony truss bridges in the country, and this is one of them. It has been bypassed and preserved for pedestrian use, a project dating to 1995. It consists of 19 state-standard pony truss spans.
In 2004, Timco Blasting and Coatings of Bristow, Oklahoma was awarded a contrast for painting of the truss bridge. The bridge was apparently not blasted: instead the paint system used was a "lead encapsulating waterborne paint." At this time additional hand railing was added. Over 1,400 gallons of paint were used for this project.
This bridge originally replaced a multi-span Parker truss bridge. One of those spans was relocated and reused, and remains standing today nearby.
