This bridge was built in the 1936 and supplemented in the 1950s with a second truss bridge to create a one-way couplet of bridges, with this older truss bridge carrying westbound traffic. However, this older bridge was replaced, although the truss spans were placed in a couple nearby areas as decorations. One location is in a public park called Rogers Landing, the other is a privately owned property called Molly's Landing, although the trusses at Molly's Landing are easy to see from the highway.

Visible in the distance is a third truss bridge, for a railroad line, although this bridge is not particularly old or historically significant.
