This bridge is particularly significant among Bruce County's rich and diverse collection of riveted truss bridges because it is a documented example of a bridge built by the Corbet Foundry and Machine Company of Owen Sound, Ontario. This company does not appear to have built a large quantity of bridges in Ontario, and so documented examples of their work are rare surviving remnant's of this Ontario firm's work.
This bridge appears to be on a private drive of some sort. It is not known if it was always located here, if there was once a public road here, or if it was relocated by a private owner to this location.
The buildings for the Corbet Foundry and Machine Company dating to 1910 still existed as recently as 2007, however the buildings were demolished at that time following a fire in the abandoned buildings. The actual foundry building itself was technologically significant, as the first poured-in-place concrete building in Canada. The foundry is shown below.

This bridge appears to be on a private drive, however it is viewable from the adjacent public road.
