While this area of Ontario has a number of surviving pony truss bridges, through truss bridges are few in number, likely partly a result of the small size of rivers in a region that drains into a Great Lake before any river has a chance to become large. In any case, surviving through truss bridges, especially ones like this one which are largely unaltered and retain good historic integrity, should be considered noteworthy heritage bridges.
