This bridge is a fairly large span concrete bowstring "rainbow" arch especially for one that lacks any overhead bracing.
This bridge has been rehabilitated and preserved. There has been alteration during rehabilitation, including apparent replacement of floorbeams and hangers. Additionally, new railings were added to the bridge and approach. However, these railings replicate the appearance of the original railings, and even more importantly, the original railings have been left in place behind these additions. Despite the alterations, the overall bridge retains its original appearance and design. As a preserved concrete bowstring "rainbow" arch, the bridge is one of a small minority in Ontario.
