This bridge is a noteworthy example of a riveted pony truss. Aside from accumulation of dirt on the bottom chord that needs to be washed off, the bridge is in good condition and even has paint on it, something that cannot be said for many surviving truss bridges in Ontario. The bridge also has good historic integrity and even retains original gas pipe railings. The gas pipe railings are an interesting item on this bridge. Calling this style of railing "gas pipe railing" is more than just a general term. Bridge companies would often order genuine gas pipe and use it as bridge railing. The couplets used to join the railing sections on this bridge are evidence of this. In the case of this bridge, they even have the company name on them, Dresser, which refers to S R Dresser Manufacturing Company of Bradford, Pennsylvania, a former manufacturer of pipe couplings for the gas industry.
