Bridges whose structure is designed to accommodate a roadway that curves as it crosses a river are unusual. This bridge is particularly unusual because it has a strongly defined curve. The other noteworthy feature of this bridge also involves curves, but in the form of its variable depth (arch-shaped) concrete slab superstructure. Despite a somewhat similar appearance, it does not appear to be one of Ontario's numerous rigid-frame bridges, but instead a simple concrete slab that does not directly tie into the substructure.
The variable depth slab adds an aesthetic element to the bridge. The bridge also retains original standard plan ornamental railings. It appears that the original concrete railing posts have been reconstructed.
