This bridge is an excellent example of a rivet-connected pony truss bridge, noted for its lack of alteration. It retains original lattice railings and an intact plaque. The plaque is of note because it lists the builder of the bridge, the Ontario Bridge Company of Toronto. This bridge has combined outriggers and vertical members that feature v-lacing that extends over the entire vertical member / outrigger structure. This detail is similar to a number of other pony truss bridges in Grey County that lack a builder plaque. It is possible, although not proven, that these other similar bridges were also built by the Ontario Bridge Company. Another nice feature of Ontario Bridge Company plaques is they list the actual name of the bridge, which otherwise might be unknown to all but locals residents who have an interest in area history.
