An inventory report gave a 1920 construction date for this bridge. It is not known how accurate this given date is.
Concrete deck arch bridges are rare in this region, and thus this bridge stands out as unusual. It is very primitive in design, with no ornamentation whatsoever. Some of the reinforcing rods (rebar) are exposed under the bridge and use a twisted bar design, which is one of the first designs of rebar, which suggests this might be a very old example of a concrete arch bridge. Another clue that this may be an old concrete arch bridge is that there does not appear to be any reinforcing in the railing. That can be discerned because there is a section of railing broken away and no rebar is visible.
