This bridge is noted for its extremely long 131 foot (40 meter) span length. Pony truss bridges rarely exceed 120 feet (36.6 meters) in length. Those that do generally date to after 1925, with many constructed in the 1930s. With a 1930 construction date, this bridge is a fairly early example of a pony truss with a span length exceeding 120 feet (36.6 meters).
This bridge is currently as of 2012 in excellent physical condition with no significant deterioration and a paint system in excellent condition. With continued routine maintenance and repair, this bridge should provide many more decades of service.
This bridge is reported as a designated heritage structure, which would appear to indicate that Mississauga is aware of this bridge's significance.
