Jeffrey Smith contacted HistoricBridges.org and provided additional information about this bridge: According to an article in the Toronto Daily Star (Friday, September 7, 1928, pg. 22, col. 6), the contractor was R. H. McGregor and officially opened September 7, 1928. From an earlier article (Wednesday, May 30, 1928, pg. 27, col. 5) work commenced in June 1928. The previous wooden bridge collapsed in 1927 when overloaded by a truck carrying bricks (presumably from the nearby Toronto Brickworks).
