This is a good representative example of a state standard concrete t-beam bridge. These bridges were built mostly from the 1920s through the 1940s. With a 1929 construction date, this is one of the middle-aged examples that is unaltered.

Discussion of Bridge

The 2 span, 78'-long reinforced concrete T beam bridge with standard concrete balustrades and reinforced concrete substructure was built by the state highway department in 1929. The bridge is an example of the standard type of T beam bridges built by the department from the late 1910s through the 1950s. It is one of over 2351

Discussion of Surrounding Area

The bridge carries a 2 lane road over a stream in a rural setting. US 322 is the southern boundary of the Paradise Valley Historic District, an area of well-preserved 18th- and 19thcentury farmsteads bordering Valley Creek north of US 322. The district's period of significance is from 1700 to 1899.
