Information and Findings From Pennsylvania's Historic Bridge InventoryDiscussion of Bridge The single span, 211'-long riveted Parker thru truss bridge is supported on concrete abutments. The truss chords are built-up sections, but the verticals and diagonals are rolled sections. The rolled floorbeams and stringers support a concrete deck. The original lattice railings remain along the roadway across the bridge. Although it is a well preserved bridge, it is a late example of a type that was widely used since the late 1920s throughout the state. The bridge is not technologically distinguished, and the setting does not appear to be historically significant. Discussion of Surrounding Area The bridge carries a 2 lane state highway over a stream outside the village of Cogan Station. The highway overpass of US 15 is to the west of the bridge.
